About Us
What is 'Renegade'
Renegade is the a UK student marketing and promotion, company and part of the Music House Group, which includes a number of other divisions including Hyper-active, Euro Solution, Goal!, Soulfood and Size Nine, and is the largest and most established club promotions company currently trading.
What does 'Renegade' do?
We specialise in promoting new and established music talent mainly to the 18-40 demographic, but with some wider exceptions. Often starting work before the artist or band has a record deal, we work creatively to promote campaigns from grass roots level, seeding and building profile in clubs, on campuses and in bars, cafes and at retail level. We work with over 1500 individual contacts across all these areas, working with both digital and physical formats.
What music genres do we promote?
At indie and rock club level, we promote all subgenres of alternative music from underground indie to heavy rock. As well as servicing DJs, we also arrange bespoke events including VIP listening parties and album launch events.
We also cover student press and radio, and do lots of bespoke stuff from tours to regional rep activity, tour marketing and much more.
At student and retail level, we promote any kind of music (within reason!). As well as working with bars, shops, hotels and other retailers direct, we also work with a large number of music stylists to supply content to over 5000 outlets nationwide, indlusing many high profile high street chains.
Our experience also allows us to offer general label marketing and bespoke product management and A&R consultancy.
Who are our clients?
Since 1999, we have worked with the who's who of the music industry - from the critically acclaimed to multi-million sellers. We have worked with everyone from La Roux to Kraftwerk, Coldplay to Elbow, Depeche Mode to Green Day and Katy Perry to Amy Winehouse and hundreds more.
In 2010-11, highlights of the roster include Plan B, Elbow, Katy Perry, Tinie Tempah, Fenech Soler, My Chemical Romance, Example, Clare Maguire, Lykke Li, Jamie Woon, Liam Bailey, Wretch 32 and many more.
We work extensively with all four major labels, many independents and also some artists funding their own releases.
How much does a campaign cost?
Every campaign is carefully constructed according to label budget and requirements for maximum impact. Basic campaigns start at just £495, with full campaigns from £995 upwards. We also offer clients options of label or individual act retainers at attractive prices, and we also work a limited number of new bands without deals that we are excited about on an expenses-only basis on the proviso we are retained by the new label once a record deal is in place.
There are a number of competing promotions companies, but none of them cover the extensive areas we cover, especially at retail level. Recent digital-only competition entering the marketplace claim to offer the best and cheapest service, but in reality have low numbers of contacts, poor response rates, and are a false economy, particularly at the crucial early stage of a new artist's career.
